Our team consists of eight people including Potter and myself. When recruiting we attempt to employ people with a variety of experience from first years to the more experienced. Please meet our crew this year. Some have returned from last year, while others are newbies to the Farrcombe Family:

Faith – Faith has returned for her second year with us. When she arrived last year she was fresh faced straight out of Tocal Ag College. It has been an enjoyment to witness her development in the industry and improve her skills. Her horse riding has improved so much that we allowed her to compete in her first campdraft a couple of weeks ago, on her first ever run she placed 7th in the encouragement draft in Katherine.

Theo – Everyone meet Theo, he is a very bubbly and enjoyable character to have in the camp. Theo is originally from Weipa in QLD but has spent time with drovers and horse trainers across the state and is now on his second year here with us. He is very helpful and is always offering to help, throw a joke and have a laugh. He recently decided to ‘grow his fro’, so far his fuzz is extending rapidly.

Tom – Known to us as Selmes, Tom is one of our more experienced employees. He has worked on stations throughout QLD, NT, and WA. This is his first time in a contract mustering team and he is often the larrikin of the camp. We are attempting to create a page about his antics so make sure you check out #tomselmes. Tom is one of our gun bike riders, but more recently he has also competed in his first few campdrafts. At his second event he placed 6th in the encouragement draft in Katherine.

Kerrian – Kerrian hails from Mt Isa and has previously worked on stations in north QLD. Still being quite ‘green’ when he arrived with us, his skills and knowledge of the job has improved immensely. Kerrian is always eager to please and try hard.

Laura – Laura has been working on properties in QLD with her partner Chris for the past few years. With her Toyota, horse float, dog, and horse she is well set up for work and play. Laura and Faith sure like to let their hair down on days off and party when the sun goes down.

Chris – More commonly known as Legge, Chris is Laura’s partner and has worked with stations and contracting teams throughout QLD. His extensive experience and knowledge is an asset to the team. At the beginning of the year he purchased himself a brand new TRX 500 quad and got an impressive bar attached to it. Chris is our main bike man, but don’t let that fool you, he is handy on a horse also – his first time on a horse for the year he placed 2nd in the encouragement draft at Daly Waters.

Potter and Raine – Don’t think that we need an introduction, I am sure you have heard plenty about us. Potter is the boss and I am the Cook/Jillaroo and . . . we’re getting married whoo!!! (Official countdown is on, 19 days to go at the time of writing this!).

In regards to work, 2016 has certainly been our busiest year so far. Having a great crew makes all the difference to allow us to continue to enjoy doing our job everyday. It’s a pleasure to live, work, and play with this awesome team of people, hope they enjoy it as much as we do.
